| Breaking News | | Monday, August 3rd, 2020: Brighton's Rodríguez Gets SL2 Player of the Week
So far in his young career, Luis Rodríguez has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Sub League 2 in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 24-year-old Brighton Apples first baseman hit at a torrid .355 clip as he collected 11 hits in 31 at-bats, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
To date this year Rodríguez is batting .316 with 12 home runs.

| Saturday, August 1st, 2020: Apples Bennett Chosen July's Best in SL2
In July, Leslie Bennett tore through the Sub League 2 like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 20 years old.
The young Brighton starter posted a 4-1 mark and an ERA of 2.33 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 46.1 innings he collected 23 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .249 average.
This year Bennett has compiled a 5-2 mark with a 3.30 ERA in 9 starts.

Today at Fissures Ballpark Ralph Stairs baffled Brighton batters on 5 hits en route to a 4-0 shutout.
"He was able to keep hitters off balance and got the ball down," said the Fissures skipper about his starter's performance.
Stairs had 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the game.
To this point in the season Stairs has 8 wins and 9 losses and a 4.68 ERA.
