| Breaking News |  | Friday, May 15th, 2020: Sandpipers Stop Brown at 23
It was the best of both worlds for the Riverside HS Sandpipers today at Sea Dogs Ballpark as they defeated the Toledo HS Sea Dogs 8-5 and also ended Mike Brown's 23-game hitting streak. The 18-year-old Toledo HS second baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Mike, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Sandpipers skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Brown frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
To date this season Brown is hitting .337 with 1 home run.

 | Monday, May 11th, 2020: Porter Runs Hit String to 30 Straight Games
Mark Porter has been ripping hits every day for quite some time and no team seems to be able to stop him. The Northwood HS catcher got 2 hits today against the Riverside HS Sandpipers and now has a 30-game hitting streak. The Jackals won the game 8-7.
M. Porter struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
In 2020, Porter is hitting .486 with 4 home runs and 32 RBIs in 32 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .544 with 20 walks and 33 runs scored.

| Sunday, May 10th, 2020: Super Swinger -- Pitts Slams 5 Hits
Riverside HS first baseman Jonathan Pitts went 5-for-6 today and paced the Sandpipers to a 15-6 victory over the Northwood HS Jackals at Field of the Jackals.
J. Pitts flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off G. Carlton in the 9th.
This year Pitts has collected a .446 batting average to date with 25 hits in 56 at-bats, 9 RBIs, 1 home run and scored 9 times. He has played in 31 games.
