Off-Field Injury Sidelines Martínez

Jared Martínez, right fielder for the Flatbush Pups, suffered a concussion while trying to get his child out into the car seat. Team doctors said the off-field injury could sideline Martínez for about 7 months.
Martínez is hitting .201 this season with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has 34 hits in 169 at-bats.

A blow for Michael Benton today -- team doctors were able to determine the full extent of his recent injury. He will miss 12 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Benton suffered the injury on 09/10/2036. The team will likely place Benton on the injured list today.
