| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, July 1st, 2014: ZL Pitcher of the Month Goes to Spellman
Morris Spellman is at the zenith of his career and today he was selected as the Zotti League Pitcher of the Month for June.
He made no relief appearances for New York last month, throwing 36 innings and collecting no saves, a 5-0 record, 21 strikeouts and a 2.00 ERA.
Checking out his season stats to date, Spellman has no saves in 15 relief appearances with a 5-0 record and 1.81 ERA.

 | Monday, June 30th, 2014: Great Week for New York 's Second Baseman
Bill Turek did nothing to hurt his value as an upcoming free agent last week, making contact with the ball at every opportunity and reeling in the Zotti League Player of the Week Award.
The second baseman hit .478 for the Gothams, recording 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
Turek is hitting .297 this year with 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 229 at-bats, 30 walks and a .379 on-base percentage. Turek has played in 64 games.

 | Thursday, June 26th, 2014: Joshua Giddings Out for Season
The doctors have spoken and Joshua Giddings of the New York Gothams didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Giddings sustained his season-ending injury during the Cleveland Steamers game yesterday at Old League Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the New York medical staff reported Giddings had a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
This season Giddings has a 8-7 record with a 4.49 ERA.
