Wednesday, July 9th, 2014: Sternwheelers Blank Steamers, Wooster Wins
In an excellent mound performance, Frank Wooster of the River Cities Sternwheelers whitewashed the Cleveland Steamers 6-0 on a 1-hitter.

He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."

The Cleveland manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Wooster did a good job keeping us guessing."

In all, the River Cities hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in the shutout win.

In pitching stats this season Wooster has rung up 8 wins and 3 losses in 16 games. He has an ERA of 3.05 and has fanned 77 batters in 106.1 innings.
Friday, June 13th, 2014: Year Over for Steamers Pearsall
The season is finished for Christopher Pearsall of the Cleveland Steamers. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Steamers center fielder suffered a torn abdominal muscle while running the bases in a recent game against the Danville Dans. Team doctors said it would take at least 7 months to heal.

In 63 games this year Pearsall has posted a .315 average and put up these numbers: 5 home runs, 34 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
Monday, June 9th, 2014: Cleveland's Goss Gets ZL Player of the Week
It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Monte Goss, the Cleveland Steamers 24-year-old right fielder, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Zotti League Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 14 hits in 25 at-bats, compiling a .560 average with 1 home run and 11 RBIs.

So far this season, Goss has recorded a .366 batting average with 93 hits, 8 home runs, 45 RBIs, 48 runs scored and a .399 OBP.
