| Breaking News |  | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Labarre Wins AL Player of the Week
His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing George Labarre was rewarded with the Adams League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Hickory Huskers second baseman hit .471 while collecting 8 hits in 17 at-bats, 1 home run and 3 RBIs.
Looking at his stats this year, Labarre has compiled a .297 batting average, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 39 runs. He has played in 76 games and scored 63 runs. |
 | Sunday, June 15th, 2014: Seattle, Hickory Close Deal
Today at a press conference the Seattle Monarchs announced a trade has been completed with the Hickory Huskers. The Monarchs have shipped 21-year old minor league center fielder Bill Elder to the Huskers for 21-year old minor league shortstop Willie Cosner and a 2nd round draft pick.

 | Tuesday, June 10th, 2014: Huskers Maclin Down with Injury
"It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Lowell Maclin after injuring himself in a game against Seattle. The Hickory manager told reporters, "He will miss up to 4 weeks with a inguinal hernia." The Huskers are expected to announce a roster move in the next day or two.
This season Maclin has 4 home runs and a .318 batting average.
