This week David Kerry, right fielder for the Seattle Monarchs, hit everything in sight to win the Adams League Player of the Week trophy.
He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .393 average and .433 on-base percentage. Kerry logged 11 hits in 28 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs, 2 walks and scored 7 times.
In 2014 Kerry has put up a .319 batting average with 96 hits, 17 home runs and 63 RBIs.

 | Wednesday, June 25th, 2014: Monarchs Machen to Miss Year
The season is apparently over for Lonnie Machen. The Seattle Monarchs medical staff informed the club that the center fielder will be out at least 8 months with a torn back muscle. Machen was hurt in the game against Saskatoon while running the bases. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This season Machen has banged out 97 hits in 311 at-bats for a .312 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .376 pace and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 45 runs scored.

Seattle starting pitcher Christopher Hester has a strained bicep tendon, suffered while throwing a pitch. He's expected to be out for 2 weeks.
In 16 starts this season, Hester has recorded 7 wins and absorbed 2 losses. He has pitched 99 innings, allowed 86 hits, struck out 109 and has a 2.64 ERA.
