Artie Buchanan of the Anchorage Rowdies had a fine season this year and today he accepted the AA Outstanding Hitter Award for 2020.
The 25-year-old first baseman put up a .359 average and a .414 on-base percentage, piling up 173 hits, 37 doubles, no triples, 27 home runs, 81 RBIs and 84 runs scored.

 | Monday, August 10th, 2020: Johnson Rips Anchorage for 5 Hits
It was a good day for the Ducks at Cloudbursts Ballpark as they clipped the Anchorage Rowdies 11-0. It was tremendous day for Justin Johnson, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage.
The Long Island shortstop told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
J. Johnson doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off R. Rojas in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
In this current campaign Johnson is hitting at a .304 clip with 10 home runs and 69 RBIs.

| Monday, August 3rd, 2020: Anchorage First Baseman Nets SL1 Award
25-year-old Artie Buchanan sent shock waves through SDMB Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Sub League 1 Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Buchanan made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .464 average, 13 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs and 13 RBI.
Where the Anchorage Rowdies first baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Buchanan certainly made his mark last week.
A look at his 2020 stats shows Buchanan with a .357 average, 26 home runs, 75 RBIs and 80 runs scored. He has played in 113 games.
